Senior technology consultancy. Based in Cornwall, working UK-wide.
We help businesses make better decisions about their technology – and build what's needed when off-the-shelf doesn't fit. Current and recent work includes John Lewis Partnership, PHC (part of AXA Group) and Cornish Mutual.
Our mission
Most technology problems are people problems – someone made a decision without the full picture, or the right expertise wasn't in the room. We fix that.
We're a small team of senior practitioners: architects, engineers, security specialists and UX/UI designers who've built software at scale, led technology functions at board level, and delivered across regulated and complex industries. We work closely with founders, boards and senior teams – and the same people you brief are the people who do the work.
HowTech is the trading name of Howell Technology Ltd, registered in England & Wales (Company No. 16524481). We are independent and not affiliated with any other organisation operating under the "Howell" name.
Our values
The principles that guide everything we do and drive our commitment to excellence
We tell you what we think
Our job is to give you an honest view of your technology – even when that's not what you expected to hear. If we think you need something different from what you asked for, we'll say so. If we can't help, we'll tell you that too.
Senior people, every time
The people you brief are the people who build. We don't hand work off to juniors once the relationship is established. You get the same senior practitioners from first conversation to final delivery.
Built to last
We build things properly so they keep working as the business grows. That means good decisions made early, not technical debt cleared up later. The measure isn't whether it works on day one – it's whether it still works, and whether you can still change it, two years later.
