    Howell Technology Ltd is committed to making howtech.uk accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of ability or technology.

    Our standard

    We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA WCAG 2.2. Accessibility is a continuing practice at HowTech, not a one-off project – new content and features are checked against the same standard before and after publication.

    Compliance status

    This website is compliant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. No accessibility issues are currently known; if you find one, we want to hear about it – see "Tell us about a problem" below.

    How this site was tested

    The site was audited in July 2026 by self-assessment using automated rendered-browser testing (computed-style contrast measurement, DOM and accessibility-tree inspection, keyboard navigation) across all 64 pages, supported by manual review. Every fix was independently re-verified against the live site. We also test the static versions of our pages served to search engines and non-JavaScript clients, not just what a browser displays.

    What we've done

    • Colour contrast across the site meets or exceeds AA ratios (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and interface components), verified by measurement rather than assumption
    • All interactive elements have accessible names and visible keyboard focus indicators, and are fully keyboard-operable – including the sliders on our cost calculator
    • A "Skip to main content" link on every page, with a logical heading structure
    • The hero video has a pause control; nothing on the site auto-scrolls without a pause option
    • We honour your system preferences, including reduced motion
    • Forms have proper labels, grouped fields, and required-field marking
    • All content is available with correct structure to assistive technologies, search engines and non-JavaScript clients alike
